Is what you are saying that while standing in life's long lines, the anticipation and fear of participation can be less stressful if we reach out to others in the line? And, as a result of opening up to other strangers, at the end of the line we'll be able to more fully "ENJOY THE RIDE"?

"RIDE ON"! Good article.

Dr. O'Grady,

Thank you very much for the information I learned from this article today. I am one of those people who does not feel comfortable just striking up a conversation, so this article really put a different view in my mind of strangers. I learned that by striking up a conversation you can entertain yourself and learn new things. Also when you start takling to more people you become more comfortable when you meet new people. Thanks alot!

What a great share. Each person we choose to engage, however briefly, can teach us so much about the world around us. The perspective brought by our children in these situations can also open our eyes wide. The real "thrill" of visiting anyplace is what we can learn from each new experience. Thanks for the daily insight.

DO YOU TALK TO PEOPLE AROUND YOU THAT YOU DON’T KNOW TO LEARN SOMETHING NEW?

An effective leader is someone who is able to talk to anybody, at any time, especially when times are tense. Are you the leader of your own life, someone who reaches out to talk to “strangers” every day? Or do you politely ignore the “invisible others” who are standing all around you and respect their “invisible psychological silent space” too much? That’s good talk when you choose to talk to strangers!
