Preparing to Change

Imagine life without change. It would be static - boring - dull. When people feel stuck and frustrated, their fear of change is often what's causing the problem. When fear is too strong - and it often is in today's workplaces - people are afraid to change. This is because successful change not only involves developing the best strategic plans but also developing consensus and sustained commitment of the people involved.

CHANGE MANAGEMENT Training Goals

This Change Management program will teach participants how to guide, nurture and shepherd the human side of any change stimulating event – planned or unplanned. Session participants will learn how to adopt the coping skills of people who are experts at handling change. They will learn positive communication tools that have been proven to work during times of transition to expel fear and distrust. This will be accomplished through the attainment of the following training goals.

Participants will:

  • Learn strategies to reduce levels of ongoing stress.

  • Learn to feel calmer about unwanted changes.

  • Learn to feel more confident about initiating wanted changes.

  • Learn methods to better cope with uncertainty and fear of the unknown.

  • Utilize learned strategies to flow with time crunches or disappointing turn of events.

  • Incorporate tools necessary to be flexible with new ways of doing things and of measuring results.

  • Learn to end resentment over doing more with less.

  • Learn strategies to step beyond their comfort zones and into an enjoyment of working with new people.

  • Learn energy-saving, change management tools.

  • Understand how the principles of change play out differently at work and at home.

  • Leave with a coping toolbox to deal with unknown events.

  • Learn to fear the future less.

"The objective of the training is to learn key skills to deal with stressful life changes and to be effective in performing duties in spite of the constant changes."
